Are you sure this is Cremona (or is it Leela)?

I think it is Lee Cremona 16.Last edited by kris; 09-26-2013 at 06:24 AM.

I guess you must be right, if only because Leela would have a spruce top, and I cannot see a difference in those pictures between the top and the sides. Other than that, all links that Google returns on me ultimately lead to the page you provided, and to me that guitar looks very much like Leela in all other aspects (also the pickup position, although there may still be a difference).

It's very possible it's a customized (read one off) Leila. I say "one off" as the seller is the biggest USA importer of Peerless archtops...Lou of 'guitars 'n jazz' in NJ. Lou, has clout with both Peerless and Eastman, because Lou has a long history of moving product...which in turn gives Lou factory clout to order almost any pickup or wood configuration Lou desires. Check the number of Eastman Elite 17's...there is no "eastman elite" series offered by Eastman. That is a Guitars 'n Jazz exclusive, as it's been reported that for several years, in the Eastman archtop beginning, it was Lou keeping the Eastman name afloat by sales and promotion.

there's still no Mona like Cremona...try one 4 yourself and you'll see what I mean.

Okay, I couldn't resist installing Amber knobs...any improvement over the stock knobs?

Imho no...these have a very D'Aquisto vibe to them...I like the ebony knobs.
crap, I kinda want to buy this guitar off ya. Not good. Just bought that Godin...still on my honeymoon!Last edited by mr. beaumont; 09-26-2013 at 10:46 PM.

You can't count the Godin versus this. They are too different. Also, when are you going to find one from someone you kinda sorta know?

Lol...the Godin is a nylon string, for one...great guitar. But yeah, different...except for the fact it cost money

I think my wallet and the minister of finance would shut this sale down quickly.

The 16" version in sunburst is on the way. Cremona shoot out upcoming.

Ah, so that's "Lee Cremona". I see. There is even option of a Florentine or Venetian Cremona (just to cover a larger area of Italy).

No, it's not a 'lee'...they're too rare (read expensive)...it's the standard 16", but it has a florentine.

The mellower-than-Monarch part also seems to be gist of this video about Leela (which I, for one, happen to have an eye on, which is not to belittle any of Cremona's Mona qualites.)

Right on Joe! Bireli is a bada**! Coincidentally I'd just viewed him on an L5 yesterday. That AE1200S is sweet! If I knew then what I know now I'd still own one.

Peerless is locking up the import end of the archtop market with gorgeous product like that. Wowsers.
-
Unfortunately no real buyers for them here. I tried to practically give away Peerless's "best" guitar, in the Cremona, and there were no takers. One sold, the other dried on the vine here, but it sold soon after being listed elsewhere. Folks on this forum don't want to know the Peerless brand...but if it has "Ibanez" on the headstock for the same price they're all over it...to each their own.

@badebart (Morten) -- Yes, I still have the Yamaha AE1200S. It is my first archtop. I've since added a Gibson L5 CES to my meager collection of guitars. The Yamaha holds its own at 1/5 of the price! Regards, Joe
