For anyone with an Henriksen who wants to play pop rock stuff - just get a Barb EQ instead of the Blues Amp... honestly.

Regarding the pop, just contact Henricksen and they will send you a replacement on/off switch with a built in capacitor that will eliminate the pop. Then you can have your local tech install it or do it yourself.

Thats what I did with my 110 Convertible.

    Hello
Im a new owner of a Henriksen Jazzamp 112 .
Its a great amp but I would like to buy the tweeter ASD 1001 . I can install that myself. I just dont know what to buy as crossover . I know its a 2,5 khz but with a recomended sped of 16DB/OCT ... hum ,, where can I buy it.
Peter Henriksen answered me it was a simple thing to add. He told me get a crossover 2,5k and buy one Eminence ASD 1001

Im not sure about the crossover .. Is it just an electronic printed card ( two ways W & T ) with the (+) and (-) on each ?

    thanks in advance
    Phil

Works every time for me with my 112. Great amp! I have the external tweety, but would like to get an ER model with the tweety built in for convenience.

    Enjoy your new amp!

Do you use the tweety with electric guitars?

Sometimes I do, but typically only when using effects to add some grit for something other than jazz. I play mostly jazz lately and tend to like how it works straight up for jazz.

I've gone the other way - stopped using my bland sounding Henriksen Jazz Amp for Mesa Boogie F50! Awesome tone and character but very odd gain and master settings i.e. gain on 12 oclock and master on 9 oclock! This gives excellent clean tone and volume but is the opposite of what I would expect i.e. a low gain setting and high master for a clean tone.

If I set the gain at 9 oclock and master at 12, the level of hiss is intolerable, both with the original valves and a new set I just put in. Other forum posts indicate this normal for this amp, but is it?

JazzAmp's are excellent. I had to decide between the 110 and 112 and got the 110 ER and really happy. I am alway amazed how it seems any guitar I plug in can get a good sound for. I had a shoulder bag from my original Mac and the JA 110 fits perfectly in it so have padded bag to carry it to gigs with.

Congrat's you're going to love it.

redone their website & it looks like they've got rid of the blues amps and powered speakers . . . looking forward to see what their upcoming 6" bud is like later this year . . . BTW, I have a 110ER and it is just great. Lots of integrity in a Henriksen, that's for sure.

    Is that a new release?

6" Bud is supposedly coming out in November according to Henriksen on Facebook. I believe it is supposed to have same basic amp guts, slightly different EQ with 6" speaker in a tiny box. I'm curious

To lower the hiss on my Pro Jr. I use a 5751 in v1 (preamp) and a 12AU7 in v2 (phase inverter). You might try experimenting with lower gain preamp tubes.

There are two pedals that I always use when plugging a guitar into my JazzAmp 112 ER.
Hall of Fame Reverb (Hall or Church settings) and Wampler Black 65, which gives a Blackface flavour.
Now I have just bought a second-hand Barb Eq. I was too much curious to put it side by side to the Wampler and see how they compare.
My third step (in the future) will be an Empress Para Eq.

Would love to hear your comparison of the Barber Wampler, please post.

The Barber Eq is in the mail and hopefully should arrive next week.
I'll post my impressions when I get it.
Could you please remind which are the Blackface settings for the Barb Eq even if I should find them in a manual?
BTW, the Barb Eq has been discontinued.

Toogle in the middle and mid knob at zero for true blackface sound.
