Actually the Burstbuckers that come mounted in Les Paul Ri's are wax potted but the Burstbuckers you buy over the counter are unwaxed.
I have my L P '59 Ri with Burstbucker 2 in the neck and Burstbucker 1 in the bridge and I love um.
