And, by the way, the thrust of my post is that the 1x12 seems more precisely designed for Jazz than the 1x15 and other models. It is very sweet and clear, much like my friend's 65 Deluxe Reverb. Paul appears to be working from that model, but using EL34 tubes which offer more headroom.

    I like mine a lot.

I've used one and it makes the guitar sound better than anything I've ever plugged into. The one I used was forty something pounds - so just about usable for gigs. It gives you silver on the top and all depth and lush warmth you could wish for everywhere else. It does a tweed thing and a blackface thing - and one - I can never remember which - works miracles with archtop feedback.

Agreed, the new Rivera Suprema 1 X 12 is a great jazz amp - it looks wonderfully retro as well. To me it's worth the carry...

    Go figure.

In any case, Abadon2005, I'd be happy to weigh my 1x12 when I get home tonight.

I should have made it clear I was talking about the 15'' speaker model - the ruby one from guitars n jazz not the smaller one from sound pure

Our scale is a bit long in the tooth (short in the springs?), but my 1x12 appears to weigh abou 43 pounds. Very manageable

    Cheers

Yeah, true. Weight is always a problem with tube amps...

The 15'' was the biz - just the end. Captured both ends of the sound (low and high) amazingly well. There are pretty good vids on you tube made by Rivera as part of the publicity. I simply can't imagine how a 12'' could improve on this.

I also own one and love it. I'm not sure what else to say, though...

Is is big and heavy? Yes.
Does it sound fantastic and is it versatile? You bet.

Actually, it's not that heavy. It's below the threshold for needing wheels or a hand truck.

I don't argue with the sounds fantastic part.

    You're absolutely correct.

I guess I compared it by default to my other amps (Jazzkat Tomkat, Roland Cube 30, Laney Cub 8). It is definitely light compared to some classic jazz amps such as the Twin or the JC120.
