Don't know if anyone allready suggested it as i didn't read the whole thread but an EQ pedal is also a great option for changing your guitar sound if the tone knob and amp don't get the effects you like, and you can try them without buying or changing anything to your guitar so maybe give that a go first.

    Best of luck!

Hey there Mr Walker, I was in a music shop today and i played a Baja Tele through a Laney Cub 10!
To I do realise that a Tele is a single coil equipped guitar but I did get a warm tone out of it.
Considering a Tele is twang-tastic and equipped with 10's I played though the neck pickup with the guitar volume down a bit and the tone rolled off over half way. The amp settings were... tone on 0, volume on 10 and gain on 3.
I could dial in highs as desired with the guitar tone control.

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks!
I have been playing bass mostly and been used to leaving the tone controls with small adjustments. But you're right, I just tested your settings and the definitely warm up the tone!

I just ordered a set of TI flats 013 so will report when they are on!

And yes, I would probably whip out an eq pedal ☺️

    Thanks!

    Hello again!
I have now worked a little more with the guitar.

The suggested copper tape on the string holder immediately reduced the noise issue to almost nothing. New TI jazz flats 013 did wonders to the sound. I also worked with the amp settings suggested, and in combination, they give just the type of sound I was looking for. So I'm grateful for your help, guys!

I also tested a Tune-o-matic bridge instead of the original bridge, but I although the sound became clearer, the wooden bridge that was installed originally is slightly warmer. Så keeping it stock.

I won't bother with swapping any more of the electronics, since guitar isn't my main instrument anyway. So I'll just keep it as is.

Thanks again, guys! You saved me a lot of money!

    Cheers, Jon-Inge
