Um, so this just came up forsale, is this the yamerha that you all love so much as a jazz amp? It is being sold for $150 on kijiji sure I could negotiate it down from that a we bit possibly. Thoughts? Thanks all

They were good enough for Mike Stern and Pat Metheny
Some forum members have that amp and love it (alothough it seems some parts are really hard to replace IF you have any issue sin the future)
-
find out if it is a I .. II .. or III
II were the classic models .. I was never fond of the I series and when I was a kid the IIIs had just come out and were out of our price range.
-
Yes, you want the II.
These are hard to buy without testing them out first. They are old and the last one I tried out had a loud buzzing sound and I've read they're hard to get parts for.
-
I have G100 series II 1X15. Love mine but will send it to my tech for a little cleanup!
-
it is the G100-112 version.......

If you are, it's nice to see a fellow Maritimer on here

The one and two look very similar so you really have to look. I dont think the I actually had I on it but the two had was the G100 -112 II

This is it here. Needs a bit of work as you can see.
-
I have that exact amp. Other than the reverb not working, it works great.

does anyone use these for Acoustic guitars? I hear the EQ is pretty flat and therefore good for plugging in acoustics. INPUT on this please! I could add a PA speaker to it to make it even more acoustic and electric friendly if so.

I would be interested in this in time. But what about the amp just on its own ?
-
Never tried - I am just saying it could be a a better solution than changing the speaker because this way you could have it for electrics and acoustics (in theory).
-
thats cool, that would be a further down the road purchase. I will check that out for sure though!

Just to add some thoughts I have a Tweety that I have used with some solid state amps; it clearly helps using them with acoustic guitars but it's still NOT a good acoustic amp like a Fishman. "Usable" it's a good word to describe it (although I never tried it with the Yamaha G) and it might be worth the versatility depending on how demanding you are on your acoustic sound (I also think it's a little expensive for what it is)
Since I got a very cheap AC-60 I am selling the Tweety.
