If you buy from eBay - one of the UK's largest shopping destinations you will find a lot of Hong Kong dealers. For some reason, when shipping, they always think the goods are worth just one or two dollars or even a gift......

Hey thanks a lot for the suggestions. Some good inspiration there. And I'm seriously considering those chicken thingies. They look really cool and seem quite common.
But the more I think about it I guess the Gibson style knobs (see pic) are kind of ideal. Had they been just a tad bigger they would have been perfect. The thing is I would like to be able to do volume swells using just my pinky, and the chicken thingies don't really allow that.
I went to an electronics shop to buy a trimpot for my tone circuit and they had some other nice cheap options. Like the ones in the other pics (note: the latter aluminium one is similar to one I saw today but it was made in black plastic). Also considering those for now.
Just thinking... perhaps what I shoulf really do is go to somo electronics repair shop. They proabably buy up old stereos and stuff for parts and may have some cool vintage stereo knobs lying around
Well generally chinese dealer often lie about the value of the contents of a package if you ask them to. Ufotunately I didn't know that when I had something shipped from there and was charges 110 % extra by the local customs.

I know.. no numbers. But still a very clear indicator. And they just feel right.
Thanks for the inspiration guys..

I had a knob (just volume) like that on the pickguard of an archtop with a floater once - my favorite knobs! Are they P-Bass knobs? Do they have set screws?

Hey, I think they are originally Rickenbacker knobs. Don't know much more than that. I bought them in an electronic component shop today. And yes they do have set screws. And generally they are well made. Unlike the the cheap Gibson style knobs I was considering.
