    I'd lean towards a oval or d-hole gypsy style myself... But you may also consider a Loar. I've never played one but I haven't read a bad review on them yet.

    I'm not a fan on the electro-acoustic tone, I didn't understand why Chet Atkins favored it in his later years either... maybe the simplicity and durability of the setup and the playability, I don't know. Or there's that monster player Sylvain Luc and he too plays those piezo Godins most of the time:



    Maybe the only electro-nylon player whose tone I cannot not dig is Lionel Loueke, so there's hope (must be the piece of paper!):

    I really like my The Loar LH-700. Although it probably needs a fret level, I've gotten the action quite low and it has a big, beautiful sound. There are QC worries but mine came out very good.

    I love mine too but this isn't at all what the OP is looking for.
