That's my usual setup for my 335; right now, though, I have flatwound 11-50 on there. Hmm? I am actually enjoying the flats on the 335. Right now, I am able to cover a lot of ground with that one guitar. (Not that I couldn't before.)

If it is the dark color then it might by NOS I dunno if Italmelodie were I bought these has a huge turn over on them...

If the color of the photo is accurate it's the old batch before they went bad. If you like them, they should last a very long time. The last set I had on a guitar lasted 1½ year (I replaced the high B and E once) - and could have lasted longer for that matter.

    Hey Greentone

Thats interesting - 'I never knew' (great Kenny Burrell tune from album freight train)
they did lighter flatwounds-- need to order some & experiemnt.

Wonder whether Larry Carlton uses flatwounds ?

After a couple days to set and fine tuning the truss rod to make the neck dead straight (I like a very low action without the buzzes), I can tell it is now my favorite set so far.
With the VV HCC I put lately in the Regent it is now the perfect balanced plugged in tone I was looking for on that guitar.
After years of using d'Addario I will take a break for a while and get one or 2 more 20ph sets for the Joe Pass and as a spare, hoping they still have a bit of that NOS...

Back from the local guitar store as I wanted an extra set or two of these Labella 20ph.
Since they were on sale, I finally took 4 packs only to realize once back home one of them had a different back label.
3 of them share the same packaging with the round logo as the one I had got couple months ago and the other one says electrics and has that text describing how good Labella strings are...
I guess a new one might have slip in ...hopefully it will not be a bad sounding one.

p.s. fellow Montrealers all Labella electric strings are on 30% at Italmelodie I have even seen black nylon tape too...
