You know whats funny about this? I have the Kingston (A fantastic guitar to say the least) I play it through a Polytone, a Line 6 Jamamp, and a Fender Princeton-reverb reissue. I am awaiting a Roland AC33 amp w/looper built in. The Kingston sounds incredible with all of them!!! It must be that P90, or just the way Godin put it together...

Sorry, it is, of course a Kingpin, however the Roland AC-33 arrived and I have to say...the tones are to die for (cliche I know) it's battery operated as well as AC, has chorus and reverb/spacial, a looper, anti-feedback, an xlr for mike good inputs and outputs, weighs 10 lbs w/ 2 6" speakers and tweeter. I would suggest going to a GC and checking it out with your Kingpin...you'll be surprised...30 watts.

I've used loads of amps with my kingpin but the best tone i've found for me was with an epiphone valve standard 15w (i think). middle position on the pick up, tone about 7 and bass 12pm mid 3pm treble at 10pm. wow! love it!

I have a Vox AC4 that sounds great, and my son has a Roland Micro cube which is a fantastic sounding amp. I haven't played through one but I hear Vox Pathfinders have great tone & I see them on CraigsList frequently for $80.00 or less.

Just a quick update to close the loop on this -- thanks again for all of the suggestions. I've just taken ownership of a Roland Cube 20XL and I'm quite happy with the sound; it will suit my needs perfectly.

Glad you found that little 20X to our liking. It's a nice versatle amp, and so nice to just pop in the car to jam with a few friends.

I recently bought myself a Kingpin and have played it through both my amps - a Fender SXCD and a Roland Cube 30. Sounds good through both on the clean channels but if I had to go for one it would be the Cube.

Do you not have to be an acoustic amp for the 5th avenue? ie. The Fishman Loadbox Mini?
-
When I was trying out a Loudbox Artist I used a Godin Kingpin in the store. It sounded great through that amp, in fact all my archtops sound good through that amp.
The Fender SCXD is another small, rather inexpensive and versatile amp that sounds particularly good with the Godin. Really minimal single coil noise with this amp on the clean channel as well.

I have the Kingpin and I did use the Roland cube 60 for a bit but now I use the ZT lunchbox amp!
This to me has a better sound and much easier to move about and has more power and clean sound then the Roland.
But I am thinking about playing thought a zt lunchbox acoustic amp as well now.

I would generally avoid an acoustic amp for guitars with a P90, they kinda neutralize everything fun about a P90.

I like playing my 5th Ave. Kingpin thru a Tech 21 Trademark 60.
I couldn't afford new so I waited until I found a good used TM60 for $250.
I've only tried clean tones, which are very very nice, better than my Fender SCXD which I sold shortly after getting the TM60.
With the Trademark 60, if you need more power in the future, you can always get the Tech 21 Power Engine 60, which can be connected to the Trademark 60 with a balanced xlr cable, giving you another 60 watts and another 12" speaker.
There is no limit to number of Power Engine 60's that can be added.
For myself, the Trademark 60 is good enough without additional power, but it nice to know there is room to grow if necessary.
good luck in your search
