It’s been a decade. I guess I’m back into the fold once again.

Beautiful. Clearly these are not your photos. We look forward to seeing yours, and hearing your thoughts on the instrument.

Nice!!! This is why birds belong on headstocks, not fingerboards. Enjoy it!

Wow. This beauty proves that Black is beautiful. Congrats in advance and hoping shipping goes well. .

Furthermore, given my own recent and reluctant return to the Ebony Archtop Owners' Club, I thank you for your service - I needed this!
But seriously, folks - my last and only other black guitar was a '91 Herb Ellis that I bought new at a Philly Guitar Show for a price I couldn't turn down and sold when I went to 7 strings in '93. I generally prefer a more traditional finish with some grain and figuring. But with your support and my newly acquired black Bravo, I'm on the road to recovery

Once you go black you never go back

thx SS!
Since I’m like JD, and rather anal caring for my guitars, I figured I’m just the right person to own a black guitar.
You may recall I once owned a non cutaway black Golden Eagle.
But since this was a newer 2017 model, produced after the Heritage sale to new owners, and since I already owned a guitar produced by them, I figured I’d snag this one.
Oh, and it was priced far less than current SE’s elsewhere. Those 2 facts influenced my decision.
Hey, maybe we should start the “Black Owners Club?” And, I’m part black, so there’s that!

I've been searching for a name for mine. Afte seeing all of yours, I think you've given me the inspiration I needed. Say hello to Plain Jane -

I have always loved a black guitar and in my life, I have owned 8 black guitars. 4 Lesters, 3 Strats and a hollow body Gretsch. Of the 18 guitars that I still own, the only black one is a 2023 Gibson Les Paul Custom (Made in the Nashville Custom shop). You do have to clean a black guitar more often than most other finishes, but it is worth the effort.
As a long time Harley rider, I have to say that I like a Harley in any color....as long as its black.

@2B~ Wow, now THAT is a 'Black Beauty'!! Heritage knocked that one out of the park.
Looking forward to your own amazing photos as well as a performance report. I've owned a couple of black guitars, and found them very challenging to capture their beauty in photos. The shiny black finish reflects everything! :-)
Play that big girl in good health, my friend.

Oh, hell. Now I have to seriously consider a black ES-165 I've been tracking. Which I absolutely don't need, and would be functionally duplicative, but one black guitar I'll play seems worthy to add. -Phil

My black ‘91 Ellis was a wonderful guitar. You know it was great because I bought it despite the finish….
TBH, I think I’m developing antibodies to black finishes. Buying Plain Jane is like a vaccination - I’m no longer getting hives looking at it.
I never thought I’d live to say this, but the black SEs and L5 in this thread are starting to look really nice to me. I’d still rather have nicely figured wood. But I wouldn’t toss another black guitar out of my rack if it fell in and was as nice as any of these.
We’ll need sound clips of the new SE, 2B.

I'd rather say Ciao Bella! to Gina Nera. Not plain, just elegantly understated. This coming from a Bravo (6-string though) owner since 2007. Mine's on top of the pyramid, hence rarely used on gigs. Yesterday's was festive enough, and the Bravo did a great job (myself, well...)

That doesn't appear to be the same guitar. Different pickguard and tailpiece.
