I mistyped. I am using a 500mA power adaptor and it sounds amazing.

I know that most cats will balk about spending 400 bucks on a pedal, but they can be had used for less. I found mine used on my local Craigslist. The seller was asking $225 (and he had the original box). I offered him $180 which he accepted. That was money well spent!

500mA, very good, then. It needs the juice! Sweetwater has it in their used section right now starting at $245. -Phil

...well, I know what I'm asking Santa Claus for this year!

But, the TC Electronic pedal has a good "Fender Deluxe Reverb" type sound for the low price. (Especially in Europe.)

Like an actual "Fender Deluxe Reverb", the TC Electronic pedal sounds best on the Red channel to my ears.

    €136.68 or £119

I had an actual "Fender Deluxe Reverb" amp for over 20 years, a great sounding amp, but my back is very happy I sold it.

The TC is certainly highly credible at its price. The ways in which the UA Dream betters it are not in any way denigrating of the TC's sonic delivery. But unless you play/hear the UA, you'll be hard pressed to anticipate and grok the differences. The TC is much cheaper, simpler and more direct, so somewhat easier to master for getting the best tone it's capable of. Get what suits you.

I'd buy from China in recompense for the Opium wars.

"The First Opium War began due to China's efforts to suppress the illegal opium trade, which had led to widespread addiction and social issues within the country. British traders were the main suppliers of opium, which they imported from India."
