Nice trio, Andrew. Happy it worked out well for ya. I am more interested in your full-bodied Charlie-Christian Campy with the Super 400 tailpiece. How did this come about?

How do you know that an ad is honest until after the fact? Assume ads are honest until they are not? That is freaking näive. Note that nobody bashes ads by members/posters here of good standing.
Weak stick feckers who can't take the heat can kindly feck off. And fudge packers who join up just to sell goods without first giving back to the community can also kindly feck off. Please find out how the For Sale section first came about.Last edited by Jabberwocky; 03-19-2026 at 04:11 AM.

Doesn't that somehow indicate that a real scam does not look like a scam (i.e. may not identified easily)

I don't live my life in the "For sale" section, but I would expect most sellers to start reading the fairly clear (and yet polite) instructional write-up by mr. beaumont. I don't know if it is "official" but it has been stickied, so I would consider it so. Just as I would also expect potential buyers with a legitimate interest in the advertized item to request additional information if so required.
Maybe some of those which are specialists in spotting scammers could collect the wisdom in a corresponding (and stickied) "Advise for buyers" thread.
Private sales have no protection for buyers (or sellers).

It was a custom build I commissioned Mark to do in 2024. It's based on the original Gibson ES-250. Mark was a little apprehensive about doing it at first, but I twisted his arm and he graciously agreed. He then came to really enjoy the project. It turned out great and is a really special guitar. I did a NGD post about it here:
