Better luck this time Vin! I'm still totally in love with mine.
Yeah, I remember the first time he bought one, too, but nothing guys like Vinnie, and JZ do would surprise me at this point. They tend to reconsider some axes.

Wow! Has the world stopping turning?? Has hell frozen over?? If Vinny can embrace the "VOS" look, then I guess anything is possible

Sorry to disappoint buddy but Vinny stays true to his analness.
Roger is refinishing the guitar as we speak.

I’m glad you’re getting it the way you want, but isn’t it more of a matte finish than VOS? Except for the tailpiece.

At least mine is, it doesn’t have any intentional distress or anything.

Anyway to me it looks fine.I am more of a traditional finish person myself and hate fake lacquer checking and dings. I’m fine with it because the guitar plays and sounds great.

btw one other anomaly about his guitars is the pickup. It’s not a standard Armstrong PAF. It’s an overwound ceramic magnet pickup that Roger specced out. I’m a bit curious how the guitar would sound with a more typical PAF type.

There is a big difference between VOS and a relic. My 59 reissue 175 is VOS and does not have any dings or checks. The paint is not super shiny nor are the metal parts. Just like a Borys.

I know, I Have a 335 VOS and it's a nice softening overall without a bunch of dumb gouges. But mine is still quite a bit glossier than the Borys. The Borys has an acrylic lacquer finish, not nitro. That may be part of the difference. Still can get lacquer checking if you're not careful, but not as much as nitro.

I remember Manchester guitarist Mike Walker having a Borys B120, a great sounding guitar, especially in Mike Walker's very talented hands.

Mike Walker is one of the best in the UK.

I think every guitar player I know has had lessons or attended a workshop or played with the ultra talented Mike Walker.
