Yes, Hofner filed for insolvency on 15. Dec..
Not sure whether they will survive.

The Höfner brand will no doubt survive in one form or another, depending on who owns it. But, the likelihood of there being any new Jazzicas, New Presidents, Chancellors, and other German-made jazz guitars in the future has become vanishingly small. They had not made any of them since @2018.

Guitar manufacturer Höfner files for insolvency
In the meantime, delivery problems had already suggested that everything was no longer running smoothly at Karl Höfner GmbH and Co. KG, based in Baiersdorf near Erlangen. Now the certainty: "To secure the debtor's assets from adverse changes (Section 21 (1) and (2) InsO), provisional insolvency administration will be ordered on December 10, 2025 at 5:05 p.m.," says the official announcement of the Fürth District Court. The Nuremberg lawyer Dr. Hubert Ampferl has been appointed as the provisional insolvency administrator. He is now monitoring the financial situation of the company and checking whether and how regular insolvency proceedings will be opened. So this does not yet mean the final end of the traditional company, but it is certainly not a good sign."
Their rope is three months long. My last order of Hofner parts shipped on December 17th.Last edited by Hammertone; 12-18-2025 at 03:19 AM.

Thank you for the information for I had learned of this today and am hoping the best for the folks at this historic company. Is only the guitar division affected?

It's all just one company. The bankruptcy proceedings affect everything they make, the factory in Germany, and any other holdings that are part of the company.
