Blonde Acoustic Archtop made by Yunzhi

A very easy transaction via Alibaba.

Based on D'Aquisto's modern style designs.

    18 Inch lower bout
    25.5 inch Scale
    Spruce carved top
    Maple back, sides and neck
Ebony tailpiece and D'Aquisto style bridge

I ordered this Guitar unfinished, so I added a thin coat of Blonde Shellac. I've also done the work on the Nut, frets, added strap buttons, setup etc.

It's an acoustic Archtop with no pickguard, no pickup and Bronze strings with a higher action than my usual preference.

It will mainly be used for practising at home without an amp.

Looks really cool. Are you comfortable sharing the price?

I wanted an inexpensive 18 inch carved top Archtop.

    The prices are on Alibaba.com.
Company Overview - Beijing Yunzhi Hengwei Music Instruments Co., Ltd.

Once you get the guitar, be prepared to work on the guitar yourself (that's what I do) or get your local Luthier to work on the guitar.

Some really hip designs there too.

After a few hours, I'm slowly getting use to the bigger size, but it's sounding better the more I play it.

I'm enjoying my New Guitar Day (NGD).

Edit: I recorded my Yunzhi Acoustic Archtop today:

    Very nice—beautiful guitar!

Remind me—did Yunzhi make guitars for Eastman or other manufacturers previously.

It sure looks like they’re involved with Eastman.

I think Mr Wu worked for Eastman as a Master Builder, then later at Yunzhi and Yolander, passing on his extensive knowledge and experience to others.

More Mr Wu info here in this forum thread:

Below is a picture of Jimmy D'Aquisto's original Solo Archtop guitar. My NGD is sadly a very pale imitation in comparison, but very inexpensive.

Jimmy D'Aquisto's original Solo Archtop is a superb very high quality Archtop guitar, from the best Archtop builder/designer IMHO.

A Jimmy D'Aquisto original Solo Archtop (shown below) was for sale for £95,000 recently in Denmark Street, London.
