Hello there!
I am in a trade for my Yunzhi to an Ibanez FA510, becuase the neck width is 44.5 mm on the Yunzhi, and my hand cant hold it unfortunately. The guy also told me to add a bit of money on the top of the trade.
The only problem on the guitar is on one of the photos, back of the neck at the binding you can see.
So, I dont know how much the Ibanez worth, I was looking for it on reverb, ebay, didnt found one in the last days, older price tags were much les than I expected, expect one maybe.
I found some info on the wikipedia about the guitar, which is very good, because there is no label inside of the Ibanez (which is a bit odd to me).
But the question is how much this guitar worth today? Anyone of You here sold/bought similar to this axe nowaays? And for how much? Thanks for the info.

The Ibanez FA510 is a model that came post lawsuit of the Ibanez Johnny Smith. It's a late 70's model from the Fujigen factory, and depending on the condition, these models comand between $2,500 and $3,500. On a good day, probably more, but remember that a guitar is worth what someone is willing to pay for it... That guitar will appeal to Johnny Smith fans, L5 enthusiast, and folks who like well built guitars of yesteryears.. A nice guitar, congrats!
Cheers,
Arnie

I really shouldn't interfere, but a quick check tells me the Ibanez FA510 has a trading history on Reverb on both sides of 1K. I don't know where Arnie gets his prices from, but you better double-check. Plenty of ES-175 clones, even Fujigen stuff, for much less. Swapping a hand-carved archtop for a 45+ year laminate guitar and paying for the balance just does not look right.

The good is that this one has the more appealing headstock shape but the bad is that the guitar is a laminate body and nothing like a Johnny Smith.
I went to buy one and turned it down. I think I was going to pay £500 about 5 or so years ago ($750)
I would offer $1,500 but only if I had to. Market value is probably $2-2.5K but likely sell for $1,750. A speculator would buy it at that price and ask $3k
Condition looks good though.
Recommandations for Hollowbodies for $600 and under?
