Thinking about getting a used side mount Kent Armstrong 12 pole PAF but I can find any wiring diagrams for it. It’s being sold without the cable, can I buy the necessary cable somewhere? Also is there anyway to attach my existing volume and tone thumb wheels?

This one on reverb is a neck mount but prob the same re. wiring. Just 2 solder points so seems straight forward. ps I've read that the set in 12 pole is splittable. Odd that the floater is not. Just a moment...

I don't think it matters if you're only using one pickup. The pic on reverb shows what looks like the remnants of twisted grd wire on the left.

On mine, one terminal is marked G and the other is marked L. Dunno what those mean for sure- Ground and Live, maybe?

The link in my post #5 shows exactly that.

Simple, set your multi-meter (if you have one) to the lowest voltage, then connect your multi-meter to the two pickup terminals, if the reading briefly flashes negative then you know the terminal connections are for reverse polarity, if the reading DOES NOT briefly flash negative then it is not reverse polarity.

If you can hear the difference when a single pickup's polarity is reversed, I'd be extremely impressed.

(In-Phase or Out-of Phase is beyond the scope of this thread.)

    I have one of these:
Handwound Mini Hum Side Mount 12 Pole - Metal Cover
    – Armstrong Music

    ... I highly recommend it!

It has two wires preassembled that easily soldered onto the existing pots on the guitar (it would have been easier if my eyesight was better!).
I don't recall seeing a wiring diagram (I can't blame my eyesight for this) but a continuity check to the pickup case was not difficult.

Yes, same as Gary wrote in his post above. But the correct connection of ground and live wire is only important if you will use a two pickup setting and to avoid the out of phase sound in the middle position.
