I put a set of Dogal ev105d on my Novo guitar tonight, which is light for flats, then realized the G is the same .016 wound string used as B in the other set.

I'm liking it so far and that G is very flexible.

I have used classical sets with a plastic wound g, have also tried b, and have even seen wound high-e.

I'm no voice of experience or expertise, but Dogal certainly seems to march to their own drum with alloys and gauges, which is cool. I am currently trying a set of bronze nightclubs on an new acoustic Eastman 805. V77, 14-48, steel B... Not sure it's the voice I'm looking for in this guitar as of yet?... but they're very beautiful sounding and balanced. At least one of the lighter sets in the nightclub line, like the expressives, have the wound B. I would of thought the opposite would be the case.

I tried the nightclub and weren't for me, but the expression here are KILLER.

The wound B is so thin that you need a magnifier to actually detect is wound.

I may come to the same conclusion, however given how expensive they are I feel I owe them at least a week or two from my ears to adjust. Hard to go wrong with the familiarity of retros or similar on an acoustic... However that's a discussion probably better suited to the "acoustic archtop tone" thread. But ya, dogals nonetheless are special
