    Has someone tried the Lollar shims for P90, and know If they are a perfect fit? Thanks in advance

    And great photography! It flatters the guitar. I especially like the lighting on the top photo, kinda underlit, adding a jazzy lo-key mood. Nice.

    Congrats! Great guitar!

    I have used Lollar shims at least twice. They came as a series of different thicknesses, so You can combine a perfect height with them.

    I have learned that P90s like to be close to the strings. Even a millimeter too low can make them lifeless.

    And don’t be afraid to turn those pickup screws. They are a key factor in balancing the sound between the strings. And making a muddy pickup brighter & clearer.

    Thanks a lot for the advice. I'm going to order the Lollar shims today. I think the neck pick-up seems at the right spot. It sounds so good I won't touch it. Or maybe just try, but not even sure it's worth touching anything.
    The bridge P90 really needs a shim. Like you say, it's completely lifeless because it's too low.
    Thanks for the comments on the photos, I did my best in a hurry, but happy happy with the results ! I'll keep them for my guitar gallery.
    I'm still on the fence changing the strings for a 11-49 roundwound set. I'll probably give them a try when tweaking the pickup height.
    I can handle any gauge, but I've been suprised liking 10-46 more and more for the jangly sound they bring. I love jazz, and love playing jazzy stuff, but am far from an accomplished jazz guitarist. I play "my kind" of jazz, which is some kind of Benson/Wes inspired smoky blues. I have a pretty good touch and timing, but lack in the science. I know my II-V-I , minor major and pentatonic scales, some chromatisms here and there.. I've always balanced my love relationship between Wes Montgomery and David Gilmour
    One day I'll play a Stratocaster with effects all over the place, and the other noodle on Four on Six..
    To come back to the ES330, to my suprise it manages overdrive very well, and it handles my Floyd inspired stuff very well (I don't use Big Muff 's , just middle gain)

    I have a RI 1961 Epiphone Casino, which is a higher quality Casino, and almost the same as an ES 330. I also have very good (Gibson) P90's on it. Because my guitar plays so effortlessly with a loose feeling, I went from a 10's to 11's set.
    Great results, especially if I want to play in a more jazzy style, more than a rock and blues style. I like the extra resistance of heavier strings, for jazz.
    But I did go back to 10's for my rock and blues gig. Either one is great, and no big difference between the two.
