The only complaint we had had were the crappy tuners (which I replaced) - but as a inexpensive guitar, I have to admit that I was impressed. He's played it a lot over the years and as a teenager playing in a couple of different bands, its "road worthy" and held up very well. It is a very comfortable guitar to play.
Which leads me to the question: Are there any major differences between the Japanese made pre-Elitist Casinos made in Terada and the Elitist models that were made in the early 2000s (and also made in Terada)? I am familiar with the Epiphone Elitist models - I have owned a couple over the years, but never a Casino.
Given a choice between pre Elitist Casino vs an Elitist (I hate the name BTW) which is the better choice - or are they essentially the same guitar? Both are relatively rare in the US from what I can tell.
Any thoughts about this?
