Big and beautiful '84 S400CES - refinished top and neck, re-fretted, original electronics - the last (for now) of my restoration projects.
Asking 10K - details of the restoration at 1955 Gibson ES-130 - "Guitar Rescue"

Beautiful back on the that Super 400 and what a great guitar. You won't find a better deal really and know you have a guitar that is solidly put together by Gibson and then solidly done a real QC upgrade by the Master Mark C. Too bad it is not an acoustic I would have jumped at it but reality is a CES is much more desirable in the market.

Really nice wood there. This won't last long. Super cheap.

Well if this is the end of the MC guitar rescue thread, I guess we’ll all eagerly be awaiting the thread documenting the next batch of MC guitars!

Go big or go home. Beautiful

Be still my fluttering heart.

Well, yeah - right now I'm going get started on a few new builds and there will probably be some pics - but it looks like I'll be doing at least one more restoration - yesterday a local guy brought in this late 30's Gretsch Synchromatic............and I thought the Byrdland was a challenge

Wouldn't say I'm actively looking for more restoration work, but if I happen to come across something interesting.........

Yikes! That looks like the definition of a 'basket case'. I can't wait to see what it looks like after you get done with it!
-
Looks like it's beyond the point of no return, is it really worth bothering with?

the owner's parents had given him this guitar in this condition years ago - he was going to try to fix it, but realized it was beyond his ability.

I told my parents that the stratocaster that Jimi Hendrix set on fire at the Monterey Pop Festival had great sentimental value to me but they didn't buy it.
