This guitar was hand built by Louis Dupaquier, who is himself a great 7-string jazz guitar player, and who has been taught, as a luthier, by the great luthier Jimmy Foster, who also was av great 7-strings jazz guitar player. Both can be found on YouTube!

The neck of this guitar was left in the estate of Jimmy and was used by Louis to build this «bodyless» 7-string guitar in 2001 for guitarist Randy Herbert. See:
    and

«The body form» is made of aluminum pipes, covered by black plastic. These pipes can easily be removed for transportation.
Woods: “highly figured quilted” Maple top, Mahogany back. Neck: 1 piece Mahogany bolt-on, string length 25 ", neck width 2 1/16 " at the nut, Ebony fingerboard, headstock and finger rest, which can be removed for transportation. Body: 15 " x 3 ".

In the body’s rear space for a wireless sender, thereby this guitar can be used without a cable.
22 frets “gold” EVO. Metal parts: gold, except of course the aluminum pipe that makes out the body form.
Tuners: 16:1 Gotohs with a "Tacoma" logo and Ebony buttons. Strap locks: Schaller
Pickups: 1 Custom Kent Armstrong (Foster) pickup with adjustable pole pieces and piezo saddles from “GraphTec”. A gig bag is included. The guitar looks new.

Suggest local pickup in Bergen, Norway. There is a direct car ferry from Hirtshals (Denmark) and the are many non-stop flights available!

    See: Bergen Airport - Avinor

That is incredibly cool. I always wondered what became of all those parts that the estate was left with. I think Jimmy would have approved of something like this being done with one of his necks.

    Jim,
This is indeed a special guitar with an incredible neck, but despite my age (83) and the fact that I am still playing every day, it is time to reduce the number of guitar and amps that I own. So that is the only reason I am selling.

Super duper but why did you post pics of an Ibanez guitar too? - I'm hoping it's because this is a buy one, get one free deal.

    Mick,
The Ibanez pictures were posted in this add by mistake and have been removed!
They came from another listing I posted for my 7-string Ibanez for sale.

    Thanks for letting me know,
    Tonnie

Ah yes, another rare guitar (albeit not as rare as this one), I see it here: Ibanez AF 207 7-string archtop
