Here's a fabulous 1947 Gibson ES-300, with original case. I got it in a trade from a pro jazz player who prefers smaller necks. He got it from Folkway. I just didn't need it, despite its being a SUPER-COOL, GREAT guitar. I sold it to a collector who didn't play it. He sold to a friend of mine, another pro jazz player who could use the the cash and doesn't really need it. Original everything, except the tuners, but they are old. Plays great, sounds great, blah, blah.
The original, factory-installed Kluson tailpiece is in the case and a repro Kluson is currently installed. Allparts replacement pickguard currently installed, as the original has degraded.
-25 1/2" scale;
-laminated maple top and back plates;
-mahogany neck, rosewood board;
-no paper label;
-made in USA stamp means it was meant for export, most likely to Canada.
It was recently refretted and set up, and plays great. The guitar is in almost perfect condition, with only one minor chip/dent in the finish, visible on the upper bass bout. The neck is big, but comfortable. The original P-90 pickup sounds fantastic.
He's dropped his price to USD 3,995, which a real bargain IMO, plus shipping to take it away to wherever. Poor jazz musicians need to eat. Anyone?Last edited by Hammertone; 06-09-2026 at 06:28 PM.

Now sports a strap button. I can install a correct Gibson strap button to replace this one.
