Following the SCUS ruling, and with POTUS's attention on Iran, the US trading situation appears somewhat settled for the moment. I shipped a Metro twin pack to MD on Tuesday. Its value, including shipping, was 510€, i.e. 600$ rounded. The local fees amount to 87.60$, about 14.5% of the shipping value. This is still 10 percentage points less than the 25.5% Finnish VAT applying to trading within the EU.

What I still don't know is how the local fees break down between tariffs, other Govt levies and the UPS service charge, which I believe is a fixed amount. Today's shipment of a single Metro, also to MD, should give further clarification.

Until further notice, I'm again ready to ship to the US. Our prices haven't changed and the Forum discount of 15% applies. That the USD has lost 10% against EUR in a year is beyond my control and no doubt a mere coincidence with Trump's first, harmonious year in office.

As a teaser, a photo of a Toob 12S Custom and my new Quilter TB 202.

    Cheers, Markku

Congratulations, Gitterbug, on being back in business with the US for the time being. For those thinking about it, my personal experience with ordering from Markku was that it was very efficient. The biggest issue was how to send payment (I ultimately used wise.com), once that was settled it was smooth sailing. These are small, light speakers and ship in a surprisingly compact package and are rugged without excess weight. Nicely made speakers. I have the Metro BG+ 6.5" cab (with the removable tripod legs for it to stand vertically, which works really well). I just got complimented today on the nice quality of my guitar tone using that cab, as a matter of fact (I get more compliments on my tone than on my playing, truth be told).

Topic drift related to the snake handling photo above... Seemingly odd things are sometimes done in the name of faith. I often wonder whether, upon meeting the deity of one's choice in the afterlife, that said deity's first question is "wait, you did what now?"

I guess I should also chime in, that I only use a Toob for all my gigs. Currently paired with a BAM2000.

It’s a nice compact rig that doubles as a conversation starter on break.

Thanks, Allan! I guess I should also chime in (back?), informing that the snakeskin 12S Custom is going to a young (at least by my standards) jazz guitarist in London.

Hmmmmm - how do I break this to you, my friend? Everybody’s young compared to us

I know what you mean. Gals in their 50's are starting to look good.

No, you're not 86 years old, surely...Half your age plus seven is fair game, just so ya know. You may go safely to take a gander or two at them 30-year olds.

How do you get the snake to swallow the Toob, Markku?

Pork fat should work. It's the solution for almost everything.

By your formula, it would be OK for me to pursue 41 years olds? Both of my daughters are older than that. But nevertheless, I like the way you think!

I have found the older I get the younger they get.

Even better, FROM the 50's. (Don't mean to offend the great modern women here, but the 40's/50's fashion is timeless.)

Half my age +7 is still an old woman.

Well, not really, but it's a great joke. Half my age +7 is 40, though. And since 40 is the new 30 or something like that...

Ok, speakers (isobaric for less gas) at both ends, magnets outward. Thanks for the lard tip, will contact Denmark.
