    Hi everyone,

I’m very interested in acquiring a Linda Manzer archtop and was hoping someone on this forum might be able to assist me in this quest.

Thank you so much in advance for any guidance or leads.

    Best regards,
    Matt

They're around, but you'll need at least $15 grand - probably much more than that - to buy one. What are you expecting/hoping to pay for one?

Upper limit is probably around 20-25k. Are you aware of any around?

Just what can be found from a thorough online search, which you can do yourself - it should include localized advertising venues such as Facebook and Craig's List. Knowing your price ceiling will help folks assist you with your search. Are you in the U.S.?

I sent you a PM. I know of one that may be available. I sent a link where pics of it can be seen. Let me know if you didn’t get it.

She may know of available used ones or have taken them in trade.

There’s a Manzer archtop in need of restoration for sale by Tony Duggan-Smith, in Toronto.
Tony does restorations on Manzers and works in her Toronto workshop.

Such is life. Tony restores a lot of her guitars, so ask him to notify you next time he has one in the shop. As Paul and I have suggested, he's probably the best person to deal with regarding Manzer archtop availability.

Sadly all the great builders are aging out.

There are some really great up and coming builders out there right now. Aaron Wald and D’Arcy Blake are the first who come to mind. Don’t forget about Guillaume Rancourt as well who has been at it somewhat longer than them, but mainly because he started so young.

According to his website, Brad Goodman has been building guitars more than 50 years. Hardly up and coming.

It doesn't help with arch tops, but folks interested in Manzer-style flat tops should check out Peggy White, a former apprentice and excellent luthier in her own right...Your Site Title
