I’m looking for a hard case that would be appropriate for a 20s/early 30s L5 (16”). Anyone have anything from that era that they’d be willing to part with?
EDIT: Looking for a case from the 20s or 30s...not just a case that will fit. Thanks!Last edited by customxke; 02-02-2026 at 03:31 PM.

Anything that works for an ES-175 or J-185 should work. The Epiphone Joe Pass cases fit very nicely if you would like something solid but inexpensive. If you want something more protective, there are some other nice cases I could recommend as well.

Thanks Chuck. I should have specified that I'm looking for a case from the 20s or 30s. I have plenty of later cases....just looking for something age appropriate, to complete the package.

Maybe one of these.....and they were available much later as replacements.....For my money they were period correct ( '20's ? ) and may not have been seen everywhere, but they were in use, and showed up as available for sale on the TKL website.....up to as recently as the1990's ??
Someone here can correct me, and maybe offer the TKL history - Canadian company that private labeled instrument cases for * every* body.....
But you could hopefully find a later, non-deteriorated one of these ..good luck.....

How about this? It's all there, in great shape, but is missing the lining around the interior edges for reasons unbeknownst to me. It's not from the '20s. Perhaps '30s or '40s. Perhaps re-covered? It came with an @'52 ES-175 that's long-gone. I've been meaning to get the missing lining replaced, but haven't gotten around to it.

Is this for real world use or just to have when you want to sell the guitar to complete the package?

It would be for real world use, and I’m not opposed to a project/restoration piece.
