    ‘46 Epiphone Triumph C (Boston area only)-img_3832-jpg

1946 Epiphone Triumph with added cutaway, Biltoft (Vintage Vibe) custom floating full size slim-line humbucker, and custom made (Holst) tailpiece.

This guitar had a cutaway added decades ago and the wood used in the cutaway developed some surface cracks over time although it is stable. It has been refretted and is in excellent + shape with no cracks in or repairs in the solid hand-carved top and back otherwise. This guitar sounds PHENOMENAL, is a straight up cannon acoustically, the pickup is awesome, it plays incredible and you simply won’t find a guitar in this league without spending twice as much. 17”, 25.5 inch scale, 1 11/16’s nut. Original bridge and tailpiece are present. Ready to be someone’s workhorse!

Bookmatched solid carved spruce top; solid carved slab cut maple back and sides; solid 5 neck with walnut centerstripe; solid Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with diamond mother of pearl inlay; pearl column peghead inlay in stained holly headstock veneer, triple-bound body, bound fingerboard and headstock.

    I
have a new one coming in and need to cover the cost so I’m Reluctantly letting this and the other listed here go for considerably less than what I have in them at this point. Come check them out!

I've dealt with Chris and would happily do so again.
He has good taste and judgement.

    Thanks, Rich.

For anyone interested, here’s a link to the Guitarsnjazz listing featuring this instrument from a number of years ago and prior to the tailpiece and pickup addition. The pictures are better than what I’m capable of:

I played this guitar for a while today and it sounds and plays too incredibly well to let it go. shutting this down for now. if I get desperate might open back up later!

LOL that has happened to me before, where I get a guitar ready for sale and in the process it's like you remember how good it was. Eventually I have overcome that reticence, but there is one of those I should NEVER have let get away. (A D'Aquisto Solo - what a gorgeous piece of work it was.)

Yeah it’s tricky unloading an instrument that you still like. These instruments are still among the best on the planet sonically and you’d spend big bucks having something identical built with new growth wood that doesn’t have 80 years of personality and playtime built-in.
