Hello I am looking to sell a Yamaha G50 210 amp that has been sitting in my closet for a number of years. Truth is, I have barely used it since I bought it probably fifteen years ago--my ability to play jazz guitar never caught up to my aspirations--and beyond saying that it seems to function well, I am not in a position to evaluate it's current quality. I can vouch for the fact that weight-wise it's a beast, and so shipping it is out of the question. I am asking $175 (a bargain price based on my online research), since a main goal is to find it a good home. I would be willing to go half in on an affordable professional evaluation prior to the sale if we could work out the details. Thanks

If all of it's features function properly, you don't need a pro evaluation of it. Test all the functions yourself and note any apparent deficiencies, it may need cleaning, that's it.

And if you don't like the price they offer you, you'll at least have gotten a free evaluation (it's debatable how reliable it will be but it should help).
As you probably know, the cost to have an amp repairman give it a thorough inspection could match or exceed the value of the amp so that option should be a last resort for you.
If you'll post pictures of it, there are more than a few friendly members of this forum who are gear professionals and could share their opinions of it.
P.S. - Unfortunately, it doesn't have great resale value, sometimes we have to take a loss for our buying impulses.

(So much for a Guitar Center description.
It's not a tube amp, right? )
I have one of these: Yamaha G100-212-IIILast edited by Mick-7; 01-17-2026 at 10:17 PM.

I have had a G50 1x12 with the parametric EQ for 25 years. It is heavy and not my main amp, but it has a great clean tone!

Yes, I don't use my G-100 much either, but it's worth keeping. The 80's Yamaha G series amps are very versatile, suitable for many styles of music, which is why the comment below doesn't quite make sense to me.

Put it on FB Marketplace or CL for $200 and be done with it. My two cents FWIW.
