Hesitant to let it go, but I just don’t play it enough anymore!!
‘53 Epiphone Zephyr Deluxe Regent from the Golden Age of Epiphone - handmade in Manhattan, NY. This one came to me as a ‘chopper’ that had been routed for humbuckers and had an ABR-1 added for intonation.
Knobs are late ‘50s or early ‘60s Guild knobs. Gorgeous highly figured arched flame maple back and sides, beautiful arched flame top w/checking, maple neck with 3-ply walnut/maple centerstripe; ornate vine style mother-of-pearl peghead inlay and cloud fingerboard inlays; Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard with inlaid perimeter stripes, deluxe five-ply body binding triple-bound fingerboard and headstock.
The binding was separated when I got the guitar 15 years ago - it doesn’t affect playability at all.
Original Epsilon tuners, original Frequensator tailpiece. Great action & easy to play, the humbuckers make it far more useable IMO than the thin sounding original New Yorker pickups that they replaced. Has tons of MOJO - the overtones are other-worldly.
Strung with flatwounds currently.
Lots of wear on the neck, yet smooth as butter. Bumps, scratches & bruises here and there, but no structural damage.
This guitar has been played - for 70 plus years! Includes a fitted hardshell case.
Here’s your chance to get a real-deal vintage Epiphone Archtop for a discount. Happy to answer any questions you may have.
$2,500.00 obo shipped in Continental USA.

still available ? You have the pickguard?

Definitely a great alternative for the current prices of Gibson L-5CES. Commenting as a player not a collector.

isn't it a laminated maple top though?
