Saying the quiet part out loud ...

How pathetic, because someone is going to buy it just to do that. Probably put them in a 1978 Les Paul...

It’s sad but true. I think people get more money “parting out” a paf ES-175 and then selling the body with replacement parts, than they would if they sold it in original condition. I consider myself fortunate to have an original ‘59 ES-175 that wasn’t subject to that abuse.

I took it as a bit of a joke - a quirky way to sell a 61 175. It says "Comes with a 61 es175". I think the guitar comes with the PAFs or am I wrong?

I’m sure the seller meant it as a joke. He obviously recognizes how desirable and valuable the pickups are to a larger audience.

After advertising my ES-175 for ten years at a fair market price, as a "heavily played Gibson ES-175 with original PAF pickups," to no avail, I rewrote my ad as "two unmolested PAF pickups, with covers, pickup rings and complete wiring assembly, in guitar-shaped plywood holder" and the guitar was sold in a day. I agree with Keith - it's sad and true.
