The LG arrived last week, no tariffs, no duties, or whatever they're called--but that might be like waiting for a city of Chicago traffic ticket from the street cameras--all over the city-wait, did that just flash for me? It's a beauty, too lazy to take pictures at the moment. It has a low end to it, just enough boom and beyond mild checking on the top--not a lot, it's mint. Is checking an issue, btw? Only seen in a particular light... I need to change the strings soon, but still sounds tip top. Thank you again, Keith! Great Canadian retailer, shipped and arrived pronto.

You bought a $9000 guitar with finish checks and you're asking us if it matters?
It only matters if you'd rather have $9k than a guitar with a cracked finish.
-
It's 3 lines up the treble side bout of the guitar and is in otherwise pristine condition. My reading on finish checking is that it's not that serious. Brian at The 12th Fret also disclosed the checking over the phone before I purchased it. Your perception of it is that I need to return it or sell the guitar because it's damaged? And yes, I posed the checking question to others here because your blunt assessment on it isn't the last word.

Blunt or not, it's accurate. Checking has no effect on sound. It's cosmetic, and it's your guitar. Only you can decide if it matters or not.
-
Agreed. Faulty cosmetics get the best of me after awhile, especially on a pricey instrument, and I sell. Ive been on this theme before with rim discoloration on other pricey guitars. Tiresome, yes, and was on the lookout for a blonde Legrand for a long time. Not sure what Chicago Fretworks can add here, but maybe worth a look today with them-cosmetics, cosmetics, cosmetics. Only the owner can decide.

Chicago Fret Works looked at it today and had a good laugh. What's the problem here? Go home and enjoy the guitar...

I remember when even I used to obsess over finish checking. This place cured me of that.
-
Not a problem for me either. I have way more finish checking than any of my guitars.

Who are you, guitar resale ICE patrol? Why does it matter to you? It's my guitar, and if I were to sell it--I'm not sure that I want to sell it-I will lose $500, at least.

What are you talking about? Is that your guitar listed on reverb or not??

I have purchased a guitar from Tom and you couldn’t find a more honest and fair person to deal with. He is a true gentleman and if he is thinking of letting the guitar go for close to what he has in it, that’s his choice. I feel bad that the guitar didn’t meet his expectations, but it upsets me even more to see others criticize him for making this decision.

Thank you, Keith. I appreciate that comment, a lot. The guitar is absolutely fine. I love the guitar, and it exceeded all expectations, especially after the phone conversation with Brian in the store, and I am glad you advertised it. Things happen at home, sometimes, and I start looking for dollars. I would just as soon keep it, and I hope that I can. It's no one's biz, of course-incredible that others, really just one, insist on making it his business as something criminal-underhanded, even. Wow. So ridiculous, and I should not have engaged with such an asinine remark. The idea of flipping an archtop in this market today. I mean, really!

If someone wants a Legrand just buy this one and get a great guitar at a respectable price.

Are people required to keep things they purchase for a certain amount of time before being allowed to sell them?
Even if he bought it and decided to flip it immediately for triple the price it's no one's biz but his.
Tom has been nothing but a model member here, owns the guitar legally and I'm pretty sure he can do w it what and when he wants w/out being questioned as to his motives.
unbelievable...

Thank you, Winter. I realize we're here to educate, assist, comment, and contribute to the community, but sometimes the dipshit element deserves a calling out.

I’m curious what you don’t like about it, because I’m shopping for a Le Grand.
