Price is now $1350 shipped in the US, might be more if shipped elsewhere.
Stupid sideways pics!
2014 Tokai ES-168, which was their top of the line model at the time, equivalent to a current ES-240. Guitar and brown Tokai original hard case are both in great condition, and the guitar plays and sounds great. I had surgery last summer on my left wrist which makes guitars with nuts less than 1.75" a bit painful to play, so I am passing this on to someone who will play it and enjoy it. I'd love to keep it but I honestly don't think I'll play it much anymore. Even my Tele is 1 3/4" at the nut these days.
I will take some more pics soon, but for the time being there are pics here - Just a moment...
It has flats on it now, but this is how it sounds with rounds -
Asking 1600 shipped, 1500 cash if you pick it up.
Any questions, please ask

Will it make me sound like Matt with his??
[GLWTS - sweet guitar!]

I have been forcing myself to play this, and I think it's a possibility that I will be able to play it regularly in the future. Which is great, because I love looking at it
No Longer for sale.

The sound was totally different than when used at apartment volume (and I am not that quiet). Suffice to say, the sale was off and I'll be keeping my pedal for the time being.
Keep your guitar and enjoy it, if nothing else, it can give you a different flavour for those times when you get particularly bored of your main. Or, u know, keep it and sell it for a better price, cuz looking at the pics, it looks pretty mint, so imo your asking is a steal.

You know, I need to move this. I bought a Music Man Bongo after playing one recently and I'm definitely going to have more fun with that.
I personally feel this is a better instrument than either of my AS-200s, or my Heritage Triple Nickel. It's much more of a note for note 335 copy than it's own thing. Based on (I believe) a '59 335 with a '62 fretboard.

Not that anyone is knocking
but I am heading to Ireland on October 1st and not returning until the 14th. So, hit me up soon if you have any interest or wait a bit. Or, take advantage of the time to think about it

I'm tempted! it sounds a little bright in that video with round wounds on it. How does it do jazz tone with the flats and the tone control rounded off? Joe pass type tones
-
What's the neck profile on this like?
-
The neck is a sort of U or D shape, and is about .82 inches at the 1st fret an about an inch at the 12th. It's a nice neck, I'm just playing my 1 3/4" nut width guitars these days. The guitar is basically a copy of a '59 ES335 with the neck inlays of a '62.
As far as sound goes it definitely sounds different with the flats (which are on it now) and the tone rolled down, it will do a jazz sound like any other 335 with flats on it. I've never felt the urge to change the pickups, which are very PAF like. It's a nice guitar, and it stayed behind when I sold my AS-200, which was also a very nice guitar.

Neck width is ? (I get that it's less than 1 3/4" but how much less?).
-
Nut width is 1.63", or 1 5/8" according to my digital caliper.

Do you ever come up around NYC?

I work on 32nd and Park

I'm going to take this one off the table for a while to remind myself just how it plays and sounds with roundwounds on it again. A year after my left wrist surgery the thinner nut really isn't an issue anymore and it's just so good looking

Where are my manners!?
