Hi folks, looking to pass along a nice carved Heritage archtop. This one has some deluxe appointments including an inlayed Heritage script logo and a bound ebony fingerboard with no inlays. I've done a fair amount of work on this, including installing a full size Kent Armstrong 12 pole humbucker (originally only a floating pickup), refretting with Jescar 0.090" X 0.055" stainless fretwire, and installing a bridge and tuners. The bridge includes both a Schaller Nashville tune a matic as well as a wooden saddle that intonates well with the Thomastik Bebop 0.012" set installed. I installed the nicest Gotoh ebony key tuning machines available.
There are a couple dings on the top and a bit of abrasion, but overall the condition is very good. No dings in the neck. The tone is somewhat bright or scooped as these tops are on the thick side with tall bracing. But there's enough mid range "thunk" to sound good for single note solos. I've played this on maybe a dozen gigs and it sounds good with no feedback.
The neck is on the thin side. Thickness just past the first fret is 0.789" and 0.874" just past the 9th. I have small hands and the neck feels fast.
The truss rod functions well, everything works, needs nothing. Includes original case as shown.

Top is carved, as you note. Is the back carved, as well, or laminate? Also, could you post a photo of the headstock and the entire back of the neck? Thanks. P.S. Are there two strap buttons at/near the neck joint or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

The whole guitar is carved. The back is Michigan maple, neck is mahogany. Just one strap button.

Hey,
Could you measure the nut width on it?

We still haven't seen that "inlayed Heritage script logo". I've never seen that on a 575 before. Don't force us to use our imaginations!

Thank you for that info and those photos! Like andrew, I too am curious about what the front of the headstock looks like. I have been looking for an instrument with a slimmer neck profile, like this one. I am in southeastern Massachusetts - are you anywhere nearby? Thanks -

You can see the H-575 two-pickup model specs here, the 1-pickup model body/neck specs are identical:

The nut width is 1.677". I'm in Madison, Wisconsin, but happy to ship.

Thanks for the photo of the headstock and the nut width - wish I were closer so I could possibly stop by and check out the guitar in person ...

Obviously you have to just each individual guitar on its own merits, but I will say that 2001 was part of a very good era for Heritage. I have two Heritage guitars from that year (including a 575) and they’re both top notch. I would be surprised if that guitar isn’t excellent. And the price is very reasonable!

+1 for a spruce top 575 and the KA 12pole. Ive had a nice selection of 575's, for me its a no question best buy top quality archtop. Assuming the neck/body are a good fit I found the maple top and the spruce tops to be exceptional but when I had to choose 1 it was my spruce top with the KA. I honestly wouldnt trade for any "CES", its light plays like butter and sounds every bit as good as you are (if you play like Wes it sounds like Wes)

Just look at the prices on the new ones, something like double the price of your guitar. The value of the U.S. Dollar has depreciated about 10% since Trump took office and if you're in the U.S., add at least a 10% tariff fee to that, and you've got new instrument prices up 20% or more.

The binding on the neck and headstock are a nice touch. I don't believe the standard 575 has those features. My all-maple 575 has binding on the neck, but not on the headstock. And I love the thing.
Add in the spruce top and the Kent Armstrong, and this looks like a great deal. Good luck with the sale.Last edited by Flat; 05-10-2025 at 07:56 AM.

Thanks folks. Yes, it's a nice guitar. A friend a mine recently brought over a brand new Korean made archtop selling for the same price - and it's not even close. Heritage guitars have their quirks and you usually have to put some work into the setup. But I've never had my hands on one that didn't inspire.

An excellent buy!!!

Do you happen to know the weight of this instrument? Thanks for all your responses!

Still for sale, I'll consider offers.

Beautiful 2-color burst there.
