    Hello,

I'm selling another high-end archtop, super comfortable and easy to play, which is rare for a solid wood guitar imo. Floating Kent Armstrong pickup, Waverly tuners with snakewood buttons.
Built by Gérard Defurne, a highly respected French luthier known for his great craftsmanship. His archtops are sought after for their refined tone and elegant construction.

Recently serviced, bridge slightly reshaped for better playability (invoice available). Some honest playwear, nothing major, tons of character.
Comparable in quality to guitars by Moffa, Schottmueller, or Trenier... A lovely guitar.

    Specs :

-16 inches (maybe a little less, very comfortable)
    -Maple body and neck
    -Ebony fingerboard
-Old epiphone "parallel" bracing (there exist a video where Gérard explains this)
    -Body depth around 60mm
    -Scale length : 638mm
    -Nut width : 42mm
-neck profile is pretty thin C shape
-volume and tone controls next to the pickup
-pickup cover, tailpiece and bridge in ebony.

    Acoustic take :

This video was recorded with an Austrian audio OC18 pair, 70cm in front of the guitar, in order to have a natural sound, even if there is more bass to my ears. My room does not sound very good, I only add a little reverb.

Plugged into my Deluxe Reverb copy (with room mics too) :

Reverb link : Just a moment...

I consider trades, but that's not easy to manage between distinct countries...

I'm asking 4000€ on Reverb. I can lower the price of 300€ here, and of course a sale in Europe would be simpler. Gérard is retired now so his prices are very high I believe. I was a 6-7000€ order these last years.

    Beautiful guitar.
    GLWTS!
You might want to add a price to this post, as is customary.
Usually with some favorable price consideration to our forum, I think.

Beautiful guitar. Sounds very nice in the video! Nice playing, BTW.

Does Defurne make his own pickups? Could you comment on the sound and construction of this one?

    Thank you.

No he generally mounts Kent Amstrong PU and makes the box (like on this one, it's in ebony).

The sound is both rich and focused, with a clear, precise attack and full-bodied notes. It also has excellent sustain. This is a guitar I truly love, which is why I may be a bit firm in negotiations... but I’m selling it to fund a real estate project… unfortunately.

I’m not an expert in guitar construction, but it’s a beautiful instrument. The finish has a light craquelure (which I find very appealing), and there’s a small area near the bottom rim where the varnish has worn slightly at the seam. This is purely cosmetic and quite common on guitars of this type, according to the makers.

Sounds great! I am curious if this is the same guitar that was for sale a couple of years ago at The Fellowship of Acoustics. If so, as I recall, the bridge saddle was pretty much all the way down to the bridge base. Is this still the case or has a neck set been done, by any chance? Beautiful-looking and -sounding instrument! Defurne seems to be a wonderful builder -

Hi, this is not this guitar, it was owned but only one person before me. The truss rod works fine ! I'll add some measures maybe. I like a high action, but it's reasonable.

Yes it is a very beautiful instrument.

The electric video is here !
