Probably a rare bird, but curious if anyone knows where I can find an Epi Byrdland with the open book style headstock in natural.

If you're referring to the headstock, probably a Japanese seller as that's the only place I've seen those marketed.

As you said an Epiphone Elite/Elitist Byrdland with "Open-Book" headstock is very rare. Those intrumenst were for internal Japanese market only.
Even more rare the "Orville By Gibson" Byrdland which I suppose were built in very low numbers for a very short period.

I wonder if that has the smaller neck. Hard to tell from the pics. Maybe the shorter scale but normal width?
