Wow, visually stunning. I've always been curious; how heavy is a rosewood neck?

not significantly different than mahogany , the nice thing is they are natural finish an absolute bonus in the humid Atlanta summers . I have 4 rosewood neck models , as well as mahogany , maple, and pernambuco ... rosewood is my favorite to play and hear .

With the coils split on the neck pickup with the tone rolled back she's Magic for jazz. Rosewood necks have a delightful chime that really makes it a joy . The narrow deep neck profile is very easy on the hands, with the tall frets the 11's feel like 9s. All the tone , without the effort ... brillant.

The DGTs are special guitars. The finish on that one is insane. I have to tell you, I have never been a fan of the splits tho, and I don't find them very useful. I leave mine in humbucker mode all the time. I did de-mud the neck pickup a bit with a capacitor, which removes some of the low end and makes it clearer, so I don't need single coil mode when going to the neck pickup.

On that guitar, I'm on either the bridge OR neck pickup 95% of the time; I don't use the middle much. I have teles for that.

Having played Gretches for years the 3 control layout while different is comfortable territory. I leave it in the middle setting with the neck on full , and use the bridge like a Master and tone control to add bite as needed .

Thanks ! In regards to the neck pickups brightness , with my matching PRS DG Custom 30 amp there is NO problem.
David runs his Master dimed , and uses the pre amp Vol for grit . Control everything from the guitar , Santana uses a similar ethos.
Baby's got back , the rosewood is quite dark but has nice figure PRS DGT with Rosewood neck-screenshot-2024-05-30-165043-jpgPRS DGT with Rosewood neck-emy41vwwxclfotrjcnhq-jpg

    Wow, gorgeous rosewood neck!!

Shouldn't there be a "10" inked on the rear of the headstock? That DGT has an insane flame maple top.

Wood library , Artist , and Private Stock typically don't carry the 10's , they are considered 1 step up .
I have 13 PRS's. 10 just means consistent figure to the edge.
