This has been clogging up my Facebook feed today from various “Sam Ash close out” sites:

    90% off? Sounds great!

Hmmm…a $2800 guitar for $119…in fact all the guitars are $119!!

    This is my lucky day!

I went to the Sam Ash website. The guitars are discounted about 10-15% (from the already high MSRP). So nice, but not unreal.

Yes they’re scams. There are about a half dozen different sites that pop up on my FB feed consistently, all promising 90% discounts.

Good thing I’m not drunk, or someone in China might’ve already gotten my $119.

Stop clicking on the links for goodness sake. They're all over your feed because you keep falling for the scam.

What I've read only is that folks who actually went to the Sam Ash stores right before closing found almost no discounts.

Look at the details of what you posted: "Through 12/12/21 with your Sam Ash Credit Card. 36 equal monthly payments required". Seems like a pretty obvious scam tip-off to me.

I wonder what will happen to all of their unsold inventory? It has to go somewhere...eventually...

In my area, there was a store called Banks years ago that sold stock from stores that went out of business or stock that was damaged due to a fire or water damage from same, etc. I would imagine that is what will happen, but the discounts may not be all that great depending on the particular store where these things land.

I remember on one occasion they had a lot of ultra-high-end stereo equipment, the kind that I would see in those boutique stereo magazines, but had never seen in person. Even at the discounts (typically half price), I couldn't afford any of it, but it was worth a trip down there just to see the stuff. The line extended out into the parking lot. I never saw another sale that attracted that much attention.
