WOW - they look new. I figured they were refinished. Usually those old Gibson reds faded out.

Which is harder to make, Venetian or Florentine cut? As a woodworker who's never made a guitar they seem to me to each have their difficulties. More joinery (inc binding) in the Flo VS more bending in t'other for EG?
BTW: love your custom scraper set Mark. Very versatile tool when you start doing that. Sadly, the younger guys in our shop don't understand scrapers very well....

Here's what the back looked like before Mark did his magic. Mark sent me quite a few photos of wood backs to select from, but I was smitten by the figuring on this one and thought it would look amazing on a Cameo. It's shaping up beautifully
