I have been a JGO member since 2009. At that time, I owned a Henriksen. They were first shipped in October 2006, that's soon 20 years ago. Plenty of time to learn the name of one of the finest in jazz guitar amplification. Yet, misspellings are common, not only on this thread but all the time: extra c's, d's, x's and o's. A common rule: know your enemy. (The better you know, the more you respect.) Getting the name right is a start.

Markku (now there is a name that can be a tough spell for English language speakers!), you are quite right to ask for respect for Henriksen. Peter Henriksen and his dad Bud have risked plenty and worked hard to provide a great product to the jazz guitar community. You have done the same with Toob. As did Tommy Gumina (Polytone) and Rich Raezer (Raezers Edge) and some other companies that are not coming to mind at the moment. Of course any musical instrument maker (for any genre of music) from Orville Gibson to Leo Fender and beyond deserves respect as well.

I have been in business for myself almost my entire adult life and I have had businesses in the Food and beverage industry, the real estate industry, the legal profession and the music business (as a performer and bandleader). I have always respected my competition and I have always let my products and services speak for themselves. I feel that if you want respect, you have to show respect. I think I will just leave it at that.

Apologies for the rant! Proofreading was an inevitable part of my job in corporate communications and became a habit. I'm used to being addressed as Markuu quite often. Never mind the last name (Pietinen) as long as it's not Putin. If only my wrong notes rate were 8.19% or less...

I don't think anyone on this board has any obligation to spell brand names correctly. What is this, the grammar police? Posters should try to get their spelling right, but to equate it to "respecting" a brand it the height of absurdity. I don't respect my guitar strings, although I may like them.

Everything will be ok. It was spelled wrong in two posts, and they were both the same person.

Honestly, carting around the Fuchs name for a few generations, you'd think I'd be more aware....sorry about that.

I met Greg Koch at the NAMM show. He said "we have the two worst names in this business...". We laughed a lot... Nice guy and yes, he pronounces it like the bird...
I believe Dolph Koch (RIP) said it like Coke...
