I know Bruce Foreman now owns Barneys guitar. Looking at a photo of BK with Django, the neck looks wider at the nut than the usual Gibson width. I read he had a new ebony fingerboard installed, but wondered if he had a wider neck fitted too? Anyone know for sure?

I'm guessing (from memory, as I owned one back in 1981) the original 1947 ES-350P neck was I think a 44mm nut width, and the replacement neck was 43mm nut with - I do remember an interview article I read somewhere years back - stating that Barney preferred the narrower width.

Did Barney use more than one guitar? I have several of his videos and it appears for example, the spacing between the fingerboard end and pickup is different, also coloring of the sunburst. Are there two, possibly three? Anybody have any information on this subject? Thank you.
These three videos show what I'm talking about;
Pickup with space;
Pickup next to end of fingerboard;
Different color;
*** Also of note, the last maroon sunburst guitar doesn't have the small silver switch just south of the tone control that the other two have. Since all of these only have one pickup does anybody know what this switch is used for? Odd.Last edited by Sleeko; 02-09-2024 at 11:28 PM.

Past discussions seemed to point towards the same guitar having different fretboards.

I noticed the plugged hole in the top that was mentioned upthread, visible in the video with Bruce Forman. I wonder if Barney just had a cut off switch put in at some point.
