Im looking at a local to me Wesmo. The seller says “…cosmetically in very good condition … except some slight clear finish chipping on the bass side of the neck above the 12 fret…” the guitar is sort of rough and asking price is roughly market but is taking offers. I’m going to see it next week. Any thoughts on the chipping?

I’ve had 2 Gibson archtops from 1999 - both had finish issues(checking, chipping) but great instruments regardless.

Except as noted, looks really nice to me. A bit pricey IMHO, but make an offer, all the can do is say no.
Good luck!

The chipping would not bother me but the price would pretty expensive for a Wes I would offer less for sure.

What do you think would be a fair price for a nice 2007 Wesmo? Asking prices on reverb are not reflective of market value I don’t think.

You just missed 2 stellar examples in the for sale section yesterday priced below market imo @ 6.5 and 7.5K, and located in your relative area. They were gone in less than 2 hrs.
I doubt the one GA is representing can be had for those prices.
But to answer your question, somewhere between them and the 2007 you're looking at, but that lacquer chipping would bring it close to the lower end, around 7k or so, maybe 7.5 repaired.

i think fair market would be 8-9k for a burst and 9-10k for a blonde. Crazy deals yesterday. I intentionally abstained hoping they went to people who would really appreciate them, but the temptation to flip them was high. He is always generous with his sales, but something about doing that with our brother Joe D's axes did NOT feel right.
