I recently picked up a mid 50s ES 175 with a single P90. It has been played but not abused and is all original, save for a strap button. It was a single owner instrument that was sold through a vintage dealer in the midwest. Like many from this era that I have seen, the pickguard is pretty warped and I'd like to replace it with something comparable. It is a 1955 model with the pin that attaches to the neck vs. the screw types of the 1970s and later. I have no ideas where to find one these. Suggestions? I know that there are folks on this forum who make quality pickguards. Other sources as well where I might find one? Thanks for your help.

Don’t spend too much. This guy makes great pickguards and doesn’t charge as much as he could.

I also have bought some from archtop dot com and I’m pretty sure they just buy them from c rocker and charge a $100 premium for aging it and adding a stiffener strip.

I would simply buy any decent L5 pickguard on ebay and then carefully cut it out to fit the pickup. I make pickguards but I cannot make them cheaper than what I see now so I just buy them many times. It is only the odd ones that need making. A 5 ply wbwbw binding L5 pickguard is $75 on ebay. I have no idea how they manage to made any money on it but they must.
