In my ongoing quest to find examples of an acoustic archtop played fingerstyle I found this clip of Doyle Dykes. OK; it’s not jazz and probably recorded on someone’s phone but that (apparently new / not broken in) guitar responds well and sounds beautiful.
What got me as the ability to hear each individual note and harmonic in the arpeggio’s and the ring of each note. Of course, hey, Doyle Dykes but the guitar keeps up with him.
Apologies if this has been posted previously.

This has been around on the internet for awhile, but I don’t recall seeing it here before. What an incredible sounding guitar! And Doyle is a master.

That is Mark’s personal guitar. I really respect Doyle as a fantastic player and for his strong faith in the Lord.
I love his Sunday-String-A-Longs.
He also suffers from major GAS also.

The Deacon likes that too. These days is it hard find folks in that speak out and are believers. Mighty fine sounding guitar too. Finished up playing my Hollenbeck at 11am Mass today. My only gig on New Years Eve.
I don't make resolutions, but I might bring my Campy to the next Mass gig.

Doyle is a fabulous player and by all accounts a very nice man. I have to say that one of the thrills of my guitar playing life was having Doyle walk by while I was playing at a guitar show. It was a showcase piece and he looked over and smiled and said "Really!". That was right up there with Ron Anthony walking by at the NAMM show and saying "You sound pretty good kid!". (I was about 50 at the time)
