I wasn't really looking for a new amp but this popped up very close to me from a very reputable seller. It also helped that I was able to acquire it for much less than the cost of a new PRRI. I was able to find very little info on Vintage Sound amps and even less 'sound samples' which, to me, are very difficult to actually hear anything online. I did learn this is a boutique-type amp built on a 15W Princeton platform with an upgraded, 12" speaker, standby switch, upgraded reverb tank, a push/pull bright switch on the volume pot, and a mid tone control nob. This is my first foray into the 'Princeton world' so I have very little to compare (my current #1 is a reissue '57 Tweed Deluxe).
What I can say is this amp is an absolute pleasure to play. Every guitar I own sounds better through it: brilliant, articulate notes, ample headroom, top shelf build quality, and a seemingly limitless amount of tones to explore. That said, I would encourage anyone looking at boutique-type PRRI to give the Vintage Sound an audition. I couldn't be more pleased with mine.

I have one too and agree with you. It is a lovely design- portable, light, powerful (enough), sensible upgrades compared to a Princeton like the 12 inch speaker and mid control. Curiously mine does not have a pull bright on the volume pot. Maybe that is something that came in later models?

Fantastic amps, congrats!

Honestly, I didn't know the pull pot was there until the original owner told me. Not only would I never had looked for it, I can only assume it was a custom order...makes me wonder what else is possible.
