Does anyone own or recommend a nylon string guitar roughly the size of a parlor guitar?
On the cheap end, it is for a beginner.

Thanks, "3/4 size" I think was the term I needed. I see some under 200$. I know it's possible to find something decent, Jim Dandy is my favorite guitar! I wish I had time to shop around for used and deals but this is for a birthday that has already passed.

Cordoba and Yamaha guitars are good value, especially the cheaper ones. Expect to dress the fret-ends to some degree and look at the action at the nut and bridge saddle. These issues are easily taken care of and make for a playable instrument.

With your budget you're indeed looking at a "kid's" classical guitar, I fear.
