wonder how Mark feels about it?

I don’t understand

Not an exact copy, imitation perhaps being a reasonable choice of words. And looks like very nice workmanship. I am not familiar with that luthier.

Guitars – Brua Guitars
They look nice.

Pierrick Brua is a luthier established for years in Montpellier, in the south of France, not far from my home.
He builds very high quality instruments, with a lot of love and skill.
I see his aesthetic choices more as homages than as imitations...

Similar look here, but not really the same:

I edited post #1 for clarity.

Toats, dood!! I put some work into making this guitar look more like a Gibson. Well, less ugly than a Heritage, because the yobbos over at Heritage at the time (2016) really didn't know shit about design detail. Knobs, switch tip, pickguard, tailpiece, bridge base (now has one w/eagles, hooray!) - so simple, yes so elusive for some. Inspired by this one:

Only a Gibson is Good Enough! Unless it’s a Mark Campellone!

Not sure I know what toats means but I think I know what yobbos are after reading that.

That was a fabulous guitar. I’d love to find a 16” just like it.

Interesting - I first have to wonder if the builder had ever seen my peghead inlay or if he came up with that design on his own. The design for my inlay is actually based on a 1940's art-deco doorknob plate that I'd seen. In any case, I've never bothered to protect any of my designs so I have no control when it comes to copies.
