My low cost suggestion is a used Crate GFX15. They are often available used for below $50 USD. And they sound great. Not very powerful, but great for practice.
The Little Jazz was on sale a couple of weeks ago for $200. Now it's twice that or maybe $350. I think it's a great practice amp -- and it will handle jam sessions and small gigs. It's not the best sound possible, except for its size, price and weight class.

Oh Cod! Make it stop!

Anyway getting back to the OP, I want to give an informed opinion, so I’ll need to mullet over for a little while

After trawling through this thread it now has me hooked.

Don’t create a rod for your own back, make sure you net something with a line out, and enough bass.

I was really hoping we would stick with the flat-fish theme and someone could work "John Dory", "Turbot" or "Dabs" in there, but alas no bites.

OP, you should probably look at a Fishman interface.

I use a Revv D20. It has a two-rock attenuator / IR built in. Run an xlr cable into audio interface / computer. And speaker kit to a speaker cabinet with 12” Allessandro fender-speaker-clone. In 4w mode it plays great at bedroom levels.
OP: sorry if this is a bunch of confusing tech speak. Google this amp, watch some demos etc. It perfectly solves the problem of having a great sounding tube amp in the bedroom at low volume while simultaneously recording it with your computer.

Shadly, I couldn't think of a good bassic fish joke for this thread. It's a tough roe to hoe.

Reminds me of Rodney D's line in Caddyshack. "The last time I saw a face like that it had a hook in it."
