    Has anyone compared a Bud/Blu 6 with a 10” extension cab (e.g., Raezers Edge Stealth 10), to a Bud/Blu 10?

The Bud/Blu 6 is super portable and sounds great. I understand that both the 6 and 10 use the same hardware, with the exception of speaker and cab. The common reason for choosing the 10 is more bass response.

So, would a Bud/Blu 6 with a 10 extension cab be the best of both worlds (just slightly less portable than the 10 combo alone)?

(Potentially, using the cab would expand sonic options).

    Thanks all!

    Sort of answer ...

I've played the Blu 6 with a couple different 1x10 extension cabs, and it's glorious!

I have yet to see/play, however, an actual Blu 10 in the real world (but I'm sure they're great!).

I own a Blu 6, a Blu 10, a Bud 6, and two RE Cabinets (A Stealth 10ER and a Stealth 12ER, both made by Rich Raezer himself).

The Henriksen 6 amps are brighter and more balanced than the Henriksen 10 amp. If I use a henriksen 6 amp with the RE Stealth 10, it is a fat sounding combo, but still brighter than the Blu 10 all by itself.

IMO, the Blu/Bud10 is a great choice to tame a bright guitar (particularly an archtop with a floater), but for most guitars, a Bud/Blu 6 combined with a good 10 inch cabinet is indeed the best of all worlds and affords a lot of flexibility. HTH

That has been my limited experience too!

Thanks for the insights. So the 6 is just voiced brighter? Not quite the same amp with different cabs that I thought.

I think it is the same amp, but the different cabinet along with the different speaker gives the 6 a different voice than the 10.

Yes indeed! I have a Blu 6 and an original Rich built RE 10 bass cab (now with a Jensen Tornado Neo 10 in it). The combination is fat, smooth, and pretty much a FRFR system. Having a Henriksen 6 cab is a true convenience. It's more than enough for most jazz gigs, even without sound reinforcement. Adding the RE 10 takes it up several notches. The sound quality is glorious, and I can't imagine a gig it wouldn't handle for a jazz player. The 6 is exceptionally fine for a 7 string - it lets the 7th sound just like the other strings, whereas most amp/speaker combos that have decent bass make the 7th sound tubby and more bass like. Adding the RE 10 also preserves this character while making the sound bigger and more open.

The Blu / Bud 6 goes well with any good 8" or 10" cab, but an RE 10 is certainly one of the best choices. And it dosn't have to be an ER because the Henriksen has a great tweeter.
