Does anyone have experience with these guitars?
I'm especially interested in the one Bireli Lagrene is playing......

I was interested in their El Diablo model as well!

Haven’t played one yet. They’re built to order and from what I understand there’s a waiting list. I’ve no doubt they’re worth every penny.
-
No doubts they are having FUN....
-
So what I’ve gathered is they are made in an Aisian country and finished in the UK. I would imagine it’s a good way of keeping costs affordable.

There was a thread here which suggested that that bodies and necks were being outsourced very early on. I don't know if that was correct, but there's certainly no doubt now that they are all hand-made in the UK. Their Instagram page is very active and shows near daily shots and clips of guitars being built in a small workshop here in London. A friend had a guitar made with some custom features (F holes, neck profile) and he was very hands-on in the process with a number of visits to their workshop during the build.

Other pro players in London using them include Gareth Fowler, Andrea Rinciari and Alban Claret.

I love how BL is simply resting the git on the arm of the sofa.

I recently picked up a used Ambassador from arch top.com. It's a beautiful guitar and has become my number one for now.

Simply 'Diablo' - my wife christened it.

Bireli played the Chiquita on his US tour recently with Martin ( Taylor ). He is shortly to have his own signature model I am given to understand.

That was the original production model when white wood hand carved bodies were imported from China having been produced to Fibonacci's own high standards. As you say, all else was produced in the UK. Now everything is sourced from within the UK. Hope that helps.

I own a Californian, just under 15" lower bout, 2 1/2" rims, carved maple top, laminated maple back and sides. Ebony bridge, pickguard, tailpiece. Absolutely gorgeous guitar, plays and sounds great. Here's a photo just before it was shipped to me. If anyone is interested in more info, feel free to PM me. I've been playing other guitars and will likely sell it.

If anyone cares I finally got the Chiquita. They wired the tone control incorrectly so I had to fix that. They offered to send me their guitar strap as a token but never did. The guitar sounded great plugged in but a bit like a uke acoustically. Was not happy about that for the price. Anyway I sold it for a loss. Currently playing a used Eastman AR603CE-15 with a Vintage Vibe HB size CC pickup. Very nice. Also got the 2 pickup model, both at great price barely used.
-
Sorry to hear that happened! However, we've all gone through getting a guitar that didn't measure up to what we wanted and having to move it on. I hope the Eastman is suiting you much better.

^ He’s a very talented player and appears to be a great instructor that also speaks English.

I completely agree with both of your comments.
